Standard Operating Procedures
| 1 | Transfer of Hours: |
| 1.1 | A maximum of 300 hours may be transferred from another Virtual Airline upon confirmation of those hours from that Virtual Airline. In such cases, the pilot will be required to complete 30 hours as a pilot in order to familiarise himself or herself with the requirements of Tasman Airways VA. After the completion of those 30 hours, the hours transferred will be added and the pilot will be assigned the appropriate rank. |
| 2 | Flights: |
| 2.1 | All pilots are required to complete a minimum of one flight per month, and file a pirep for that flight. |
| 2.2 | The following sub clauses 2.3 to 2.8 do not apply if the pilot has successfully completed a check ride for the category of aircraft that he/she wishes to fly. |
| 2.3 | Second Officers are required to complete their flying hours from the domestic schedule in Category 1 aircraft. |
| 2.4 | Junior First Officers are required to complete their flying hours from the domestic schedule in Category 2 aircraft or from a category lower. |
| 2.5 | First Officers are required to complete their flying hours from the domestic schedule in Category 3 aircraft or from a category lower. |
| 2.6 | Relief Commanders are required to complete their flying hours from both the domestic and international schedules in Category 4 aircraft or from a category lower. |
| 2.7 | Captains are required to complete their flying hours from both the domestic and international schedules in Category 5 aircraft or from a category lower. |
| 2.8 | Check Captains are required to complete their flying hours from both the domestic and international schedules in Category 6 aircraft or from a category lower. |
| 2.9 | Codeshare flights from St Paul Airlines and InvictaJet are available for any pilot to fly after having completed their monthly flight. |
| 2.10 | Pilots may fly the same or lesser category of aircraft that they are qualified to fly. |
| 2.11 | A pilot may request a special charter flight of his or her choice from the CEO or Hub Manager. |
| 2.12 | To make your flying experience with us more realistic, you should book a check ride with your hub manager annually. This will be carried out on line. |
| 2.13 | When flying on line, you may fly the category of aircraft specified or any aircraft of your choice. |
| 3 | Code share Flights: This is the code share agreement between Saint Paul Airlines and Tasman Airways. Code sharing refers to a practice where a flight operated by an airline is jointly marketed as a flight for one or more other airlines. Most major airlines today have code sharing partnerships with other airlines, and code sharing is a key feature of the major airline alliances. Our agreement is as follows. The policies contained in this agreement may only be amended by consensus of the Senior Management. |
| 3.1 | This code share agreement is open to all pilots of any rank. |
| 3.2 | Prior to flying any code share flights, all pilots must have completed their one required flight for the month. |
| 3.3 | Pilots who wish to participate in the code share flights need to inform the LAX Hub Manager of their intent. |
| 3.4 | The LAX Hub Manager will route the pilot into KLAX (Los Angeles International Airport). After arriving in Los Angeles, the pilot may contact the LAX Hub Manager for a route into the USA or he may select a flight from the SPA code share flight schedule. |
| 3.5 | A pilot is not required to fly to KLAX to fly a code share flight. He may be given, or select any flight from the SPA code share flight schedule. |
| 3.6 | A pilot may only fly a flight for the category of aircraft that he is qualified to fly. Permission must be obtained from the LAX Hub Manager to fly a higher category of aircraft whilst flying a code share flight. |
| 3.7 | Any questions a pilot may have while flying St Paul Airlines flights should be directed toward the LAX Manager. |
| 3.8 | Any St Paul Airlines flights flown after your required scheduled flight should be filed under the LAX hub. |
| 3.9 | No pilots will be assigned to the LAX hub. The LAX Manager is a medium between Tasman Airways and Saint Paul Airlines. |
| 4 | Pireps: |
| 4.1 | Pireps must be logged after completing all flights. |
| 4.2 | Flight hours are only valid if the correct category of aircraft is flown, unless approved by the CEO or Hub Manager. |
| 5 | Behaviour: |
| 5.1 | The management at Tasman Airways VA will not tolerate any abusive emails or calls from any pilot for any reason. Such cases will be dealt with by dismissal from Tasman Airways VA. |
| 5.2 | Please treat each other with respect and in a manner that you would expect to receive yourself. |
| 6 | Pilot Status: |
| 6.1 | Pilots who have not filed a pirep for one month will be sent an email from their hub manager asking why they have not done so. |
| 6.2 | Failure to file a pirep in the next two week period will mean another email from their hub manager. A continued period of inactivity for a further two week period will see the pilot removed from the pilot roster, and all mailing lists. |
| 6.3 | A pilot may be put on leave of absence at the discretion of their hub manager. |
